This month's free verse background features a portion of Psalm 23. One of my favorite Psalms ever. A reminder that God is our shepherd, our protector, overseer, provider, our leader and our comforter. And that He refreshes our soul. The word for "refresh" in the author's original language means "to bring back to" or "to restore" or "to retrieve" -- I love the deeper meaning hidden in that word "refresh". When my heart feels like it has wondered so far from God He promises that He will bring me back. He will retrieve and restore. Isn't that the most encouraging reminder?
