Life & Hope After Stillbirth | Episode 45 with Mary Margaret Powitz
Episode 45
Listen in as I chat with Mary Margaret Powitz, a wise mama who has experienced the devastating loss of her baby girl Helen. Mary Margaret shares the story of her daughter, hearing the words "there is no heartbeat", labor and delivery of her stillborn daughter; and so much incredible wisdom about her journey with grief, her wrestle with faith and God, and what she is learning right now about life after the loss of a baby.
We talk about the enneagram and how our unique personalities grieved differently. We talk about all the ways she felt the most loved and cared for amidst her grief -- helpful for anyone listening who has a friend or family member walking through loss. We talk about the ways she is experiencing God redeem such tragedy -- and the ways she mentions might surprise you. And she is incredibly transparent about what her faith journey has looked like since the loss of her daughter.
This episode is tender and honest and I am sure will be incredibly helpful to you. I pray that more than anything your time listening serves as a reminder that you are never, ever alone in this grief journey and that you truly are more loved than you could ever imagine.
Meet Mary Margaret
My husband and I live in a rural town in Virginia. He works for the outreach ministry, Young Life. I taught middle school English for four years until our oldest daughter was born in 2016. I now work from home doing Client Care and Marketing work for a wedding venue near by and teaching online. In 2018 our second daughter was diagnosed with a cleft lip and palate at 20 weeks, but was otherwise perfectly healthy, until her heart stopped at 36 weeks.
