Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day: Holding Space & Raising Awareness | 2021

Today is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Day. Today we honor you and remember your babies. Today we give space for your voice and your story. Today we raise awareness.

I've listed a few ways you can do those things today. But mostly I want you to hear me say:

You are more than a statistic.

You are more than 1 in 4.

You matter.

Your story matters.

Your baby(s) matter.

And you are loved today.

Ways to hold space & raise awareness

1. SHARE YOUR STORY.
We have graphics  you can use on social media like the ribbon above. Just click, save and upload to your favorite social media channels. Or the Instastory Graphics below are helpful when words seem hard to come by.

Or if social media isn't helpful, journaling your story can still be a powerful way to reflect on your story and to process through your grief. Download the Journal Prompt Guide.

2. SPEND TIME IN REFLECTION.
We put together a Reflection Guide on Isaiah 40:11 to give space for you to wrestle through the hard realities that a day like today can surface.

3. LIGHT A CANDLE
Join me on October 15 for a special way to remember our babies. At 7pm (your local time) light a candle. Women who have experienced the loss of a baby will be joining together from all over the world, lighting a candle and creating a Wave of Light — honoring our babies and raising awareness about pregnancy and infant loss. Click on the the graphics below to access a free customizable template via Canva (click here to watch a simple video tutorial that shows how to customize the graphic!)

If you choose to join us in lighting a candle or sharing your story, make sure you tag @thejoyfulmorning so The Joyful Mourning Community can follow along with your story.

4. SHARE "CONVERSATIONS WITH A GRIEVING MOM" BONUS EPISODES
These two bonus episodes on The Joyful Mourning Podcast are a perfect way to raise awareness about Pregnancy & Infant Loss.

Lastly, and most importantly, and one more time in case you forgot: you are more than a statistic. You are more than 1 in 4. You matter. Your story matters. Your baby(s) matter. And you are loved today.
