How Not to Feel Alone in Your Grief After Pregnancy or Infant Loss

Do you know anyone else who has experienced the loss of a baby? I know that for me, when my son died I did not know a single other person who had experienced infant loss. I felt like I was on an island — completely alone drowning in loneliness and grief. Have you felt that way?

There was so much that was unknown about grief. Everything felt foreign. I had no idea if what I was experiencing was normal or not. And I didn’t have anyone to even ask who had been there. I needed to hear other women tell me that what I was thinking and feeling was normal and ok and to be expected. I needed to hear other women who had lost a baby laughing because I could not imagine ever laughing again.

I needed their voice. I needed their stories. I needed to hear their resilience and their strength and their hope.

That’s why one of the pillars of The Morning is to provide hope and community to women who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss through thoughtful & intentional conversation.

We want to create a space where you can ask questions that you can’t ask friends who don’t understand what you’re going through. We want you to be able to “listen in” (even virtually) to what other grieving moms are talking about and asking. We want to help you to see what grief really is… and what hope really is, too. Because somehow its a little more believable when you hear it from another woman who’s been there!

And most importantly, we want to know you. We want you to know your baby. We want to offer you hope and support and space to grieve honestly with other women who get it.

That’s what makes our free online community, The Joyful Mourning Community, so special. You can have a place to feel seen and known, a place to ask questions or share sorrows, a place away from social media to go for support and for refuge.

The Joyful Mourning Community exists to provide support, friendship, and community from women from grieving moms for grieving moms so that they never feel alone in their grief again. We do that through initiating & continuing meaningful conversation, by sharing and offering quality resources for helpful support, and in giving opportunities to share your grief, your babies, and your stories.

Over 1300 women are members of this special community. Will you join us? When you log in, you’ll be invited to share what feels hard right now, what feels hopeful, and to introduce yourself to us. We’d love to have you.
