Finding Hope & Support After Baby Loss Through Sharing our Stories
“This kind of grief is so lonely. Even the people that try to empathize just don’t get it & it’s so frustrating.” - T.
“I’m trying to find hope. It feels very lonely 😞” - S.
“I have a long day to get through, alone with my two toddlers, and I feel like I’m drowning.” - M.
“It feels like I’m the only one who has ever gone through something like this. This has been so lonely.” - S.
These are real comments from real grieving moms within The Morning. Grieving moms just like you learning to navigate life and motherhood following pregnancy and infant loss. Grief is so lonely. And it often takes us by surprise, complicating and adding to the pain of loss.
Have you been there? Have you said similar things?
What I’ve learned over the decade and a half of navigating my own grief following the loss of two babies, and meeting thousands of other grieving moms through The Morning is that nothing will ever fill the loneliness from the void of our babies in Heaven and also what we need in the meantime is each other.
We need to hear the stories of other brave women and beautiful babies gone far too soon – and we need to share our own. We need the space to ask questions, or hear others ask questions that we didn’t even know we had, and to hear real, honest answers from women who get it. We need the opportunity to be seen, to be known, and to be reminded that we are loved.
THAT’S EXACTLY WHY I STARTED THE JOYFUL MOURNING PODCAST.
Over 5 years and 200 episodes later, we’ve shared countless stories of women, just like you, who have experienced the pain of pregnancy and infant loss.
I am so grateful to be on this journey with you – providing the support and wisdom and encouragement that I know, as a fellow grieving mother, will bring you hope, even on the darkest days.
That’s what The Joyful Mourning Podcast is all about – finding hope and joy even in the mourning and reminding you that you matter. Your baby matters. Your story matters. And you are seen. And loved. And not alone.
Episode 200 is The Joyful Mourning Starter Kit – 20 episodes that will immediately help you find joy, hope and practical help when navigating grief and life after loss. Our best and most helpful episodes because I know it can be hard and overwhelming to know where to start when there are 200 episodes. So consider it your index of most valuable episodes – giving insight, wisdom, and hope for some of the most challenging aspects of life after the loss of a baby.
And while I truly believe that all of our episodes are incredibly meaningful and valuable, I have chosen 20 episodes to highlight with you here that will address those big challenges and help you get started here with us. Even if you have been listening for a while I think many of these episodes are worth revisiting – The Starter Kit is worth saving so you can come back to and reference whenever you might face one of these common challenges or know someone who is in the midst of one.
BUT WHAT ABOUT YOUR STORY?
We have lots of ways you can continue to live, begin to share, and even one day embrace your story and they’re found in The Morning Shop. Here are two of our favorites - and favorites of the moms just like you who are part of The Morning.
1. Write your story.
We have several guided journals that give even the non-writers space to remember, honor, and process. You’ll find My Joyful Mourning Journals that allow you to write your story every day for a month, Guided Grief Journals to pick up on the days where our grief is stuck, at the surface, or spilling over, and even Birthday and Special Days Journals that are keepsakes for years to come. 2. Wear your story.
Some days we want the world to know our story and other days we want something that’s meaningful to just us. Some days we want to wrap our arms around something tangible that will ease the ache of our grieving arms and other days we need to hold something that gives us courage to press on. With our collection of beautiful apparel, you’ll be able to do all of that – and more. Click here to find the perfect way to wear your story today.
